ABBA!
The Winner Takes it All...
Knowing Me, Knowing You...
Take a Chance on Me...
Voulez- Vous....
Money, Money Money...
I have been a little obsessed with ABBA ever since I did that water aerobics class in Arizona with Inge, our 75 year old instructor. She was truly amazing- with a fantastic toned and tanned body, bleach blond hair tied up in a bun, and perfectly made up in shades of pink. She, like most of the other women in the class, wore a silver sequined visor and special sneakers so she could jump in and out of the water to demonstrate the moves. She may be 75, but I had a hard time keeping up with her! For an entire hour we jumped around in the pool to a wonderfully curated soundtrack of ABBA, which Inge later told me she put in because of me- being a younger member of the group she thought I would enjoy it. I never thought I liked ABBA, even after watching "Mama Mia" (which I hated), but turns out- I do. And even though I should have perhaps been working on other things today, I got a little sidetracked watching ABBA videos on youtube.
(...and in case you were wondering why I was doing water aerobics in Arizona in the first place- well, about a week and a half ago my mom and I went to go visit a longtime family friend, who just so happened to be "wintering" in a gated retirement community in Mesa, AZ. Some of my friends may have begun to worry about my recent interest in sequin visors, water aerobics, and bingo- but I'm not ashamed.)
