Loving Perez Hilton

I woke up this morning to the lovely surprise of seeing my "Feel Like Making Love" tee on the infamous Perez Hilton! I have been reading his blog for years now, which has given me endless hours of pure enjoyment while wasting time at work- so of course I was thrilled to see him rock a little Every Little Counts. But, what was even better was that not only was Perez Hilton wearing one of my tees, but he was standing next to Stevie Nicks while doing so- THE Stevie Nicks that I adore...THE Stevie Nicks that I only just blogged about myself a few days ago.
Thank you, Perez... I love you!

Remember the Cardigans?

I was reading my daily email from Refinery 29 and I was sort of taken aback when I saw Nina Peerson, who I only remembered from the Cardigans- who I never really liked but remembered from the Romeo & Juliet soundtrack. Turns out Nina is also the front- gal behind a new project, A Camp...
"A Camp first drew breath in a forest in Northern Sweden, neck deep in snow, in the waning of the last millenium, amongst families of foxes. "
Soft, dreamy, melodious...I love it. Listen here

Happy Birthday Stevie!

Stevie Nicks turns 61 today!
I so love the name "Stevie" for a girl, unfortunately my husband doesn't agree with me...

Andrea Zuckerman Was Never This Cool...

I have dedicated tonight to cleaning out my inbox- a much dreaded task. I am down to a mere 630 emails, which I am pretty sure I will not take care of in one evening. But anyhow, I found this little Beverly Hills 90210 inspired story from Who What Wear Daily back from May 1st. I loved it so much I couldn't delete it! So now it will live on somewhere in the Every Little Counts blog history...
I must admit I am not a huge fan of 90's fashion, despite its comeback. I am, however, obsessed with 90210- the original and now....dare I say- the NEW 90210. I am not afraid to admit the show has been added to my list of must-see teen melodrama, along with Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill (cringe-worthy but still addictive). But getting back to the story... I love how much this model looks like Brenda Walsh! My favorite is the Andrea Zuckerman look shown in the bottom row, which is actually way cooler than anything Andrea would've worn.

The Brothers Bloom

The Brothers Bloom, starring Mark Ruffalo, Adrien Brody, Rachel Weisz, and Rinko Kikuchi.

We went to go see The Brothers Bloom last night. It's a stylish and quirky con-man story full of lust, intrigue, humor and adventure. The locations were amazing- Prague, Montenegro, St. Petersburg...with all traveling done by boat and train in this antiquated and fantastical sort of way. Rachel Weisz is hilarious as this eccentric and innocent millionaire, "Penelope", who was found living in an enormous estate in New Jersey and driving a bright yellow Lambourghini. I am still wondering if that could have really been New Jersey...it looked more like the rolling hills of Ireland, but anyway...it was a great adventure and you should go out and see it! And, Adrien Brody is especially endearing...

Watching: There's A Girl in My Soup

"There's a Girl in My Soup", 1970, featuring Goldie Hawn and Peter Sellers.

I have always loved the fun, stylish films of the 60's and early 70's, complete with mini skirts, sunken living rooms, and lavish settings such as the French Riviera (as shown above).
Goldie Hawn is beyond adorable in her perfectly tousled bouffant and gorgeously ruffled necklines. Although not my favorite film from this era, it was a fun, stylish romp to watch. It definitely got my dreaming of vacation in some faraway luxurious location such as Nice or San Sebastian.

By the way, don't you love the tunic Peter Sellers is wearing above? One warning, watch out for some truly frightening shots of his beyond- hairy back ;)

Happy Birthday, Todd!

Today is my brother's birthday. Since we live so far apart, I just wanted to send him some extra special birthday wishes. He is one of my favorite people in the world and I miss him tons! He usually makes fun of me for blogging, but that's what we do as brothers and sisters.
These are two of my favorite pictures of us...as kids, and as adults (at my wedding-ah).

Must Have for Summer: Denim Cutoffs

My mom in the 70's is definitely a style inspiration to me everyday, but this look also inspired the new summer collection for Every Little Counts. I usually hate it when you see pieces in the store that are purposefully "destroyed" with holes, paint splatters, and the like. However, I am in love with these Levi's cutoff shorts from Urban Outfitters. After much searching, I do realize how hard it is to find perfect fitting denim- especially with a perfectly high waist- not too high, not too low. These do the job and feel so wonderfully nostalgic whenever I wear them. (And they look better on that pictured on the model below- how often do you say that?).
