do all girls go through an ophelia phase? i personally had the millais version hanging in my bedroom as a teenager. but my favorite ophelia association is from the little seen, "Fire with Fire" starring Virginia Madsen & Craig Scheffer, my favorite 80's romance of all time. seriously. she's a catholic schoolgirl & he's an inmate at a neighboring juvenile detention facility. they meet in the woods when she is taking self portraits referencing ophelia drowning in the river.

I'm going to have to check that one out. I went through an Ophelia phase when I was 19. I even dressed up like her for Halloween.
Sadly, I don't think it's been released on DVD yet. I keep hoping!
