Top 5 with t8designs

This week, we asked Sam from t8designs to inaugurate our new feature here on the blog, Top 5 with...., where we ask influential and talented artists and designers about some of their favorite things.

Top Five Films of Love
1. Lars and the Real Girl - a family and community offer a mentally deluded young man compassion and help him discover love on his own terms
2. Once - ephemeral, unrequited, fateful interspersed with heartbreaking songs... we've all been there
3. My Left Foot - a mother's love and determination brings a major artist to the attention of the world
4. Paper Moon - grifters unite. love and chicanery bond a possible father/daughter combo in the midst of the great depression
5. The Thin Man- married and loving it. Nick and Nora (and Asta) Charles solve crimes with wit and style

Top Five Books
1. From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsberg
2. Hideous Kinky by Esther Freud
3. Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman

4. The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck
5. The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde

Top Five "Make-Out" Songs
1.  “I Want a Little Sugar in My Bowl” – Nina Simone

2.  “J T’aime moi Non Plus” – Serge Gainsbourg & Jane Birkin
3.  “North Kensington” – The Lilac Time
4.  “Love Songs on the Radio” – Mojave 3

5.   "Empty"- Ray LaMontagne

Top Five Crushes of All Time
1.  Donald Sutherland – people are always surprised by this choice.  For those who do not understand you need to see his sex scene with Julie Christie in Nicholas Roeg’s “Don’t Look Now”.
2.  Jarvis Cocker – sexy mind, sexy voice, tall and lanky as I like ‘em

3.  Gram Parsons – gone too soon. RIP
4.  Terence Stamp (Poor Cow/Modesty Blaise/The Collector era…not so much in Priscilla Queen of  the Desert)

(Sidebar: I used to have a list I called my Septuagenarian Sex Club because I crush on primarily actors from the 60s who are now either dead or pretty gosh darn old)
5.  *Girlcrush*- Dolly Parton- I am envious of her talent and awed by her joie de vivre. She would be the #1 person on my dream party guest list.

Top Five Words to Describe Falling In Love:
1. Giddy
2. Altruistic
3. Anxious
4. Innocent
5. Insomniac

I just met Sam from t8designs in December, but she is already one of my favorite people in the world. I think we might share a brain. But before we met I had already fallen in love with her work. Her jewelry is all hand crafted from vintage flea market finds, so each piece is one of a kind, and constructed in a completely unexpected way. If you like something, you better get your hands on it fast, or it'll be gone forever.

These are some of my favorites:
